Overview

The Hat Las Vegas marks the first completed location for the iconic Southern California restaurant brand in Las Vegas, bringing a new dining destination to the Southwest Valley. Completed by Kalb Construction, the project showcases high-quality commercial construction, detailed coordination, and efficient project execution from groundbreaking through completion.

As an experienced Las Vegas general contractor, Kalb Construction delivered The Hat with a focus on schedule, quality, and craftsmanship, helping bring one of California’s most recognized restaurant concepts to the Las Vegas market. The completed restaurant adds to the growing hospitality and retail development landscape in Southern Nevada.

  • Challenges Overcome

    The site presented several construction challenges, beginning with extensive caliche conditions that impacted the overall sitework schedule. In addition, the project required ongoing coordination through civil design updates, structural framing adjustments, and interior design changes.

    The goal was to closely replicate the original store design and finish standards while navigating material lead times, design revisions, and field conditions. Through consistent communication, proactive problem-solving, and disciplined coordination, the Kalb team successfully worked through each challenge while maintaining the project’s overall vision.

  • Schedule Insights

    The project schedule faced multiple challenges related to ongoing design revisions, procurement delays, and extended material lead times. Despite these impacts resulting in an overall schedule extension of approximately three months, the project team remained focused on maintaining critical milestones and operational readiness.

    Through strategic sequencing, accelerated coordination efforts, and close collaboration with ownership, consultants, and trade partners, the team successfully delivered a fully operational restaurant in time for the scheduled Grand Opening on May 6th.
